Beginning in February, our next Mondays @ Noon series theme will be The Israel You Don't Know. 

February 1: *Speaking to us from Israel* DJ Schneeweiss will be presenting Discover the National Library of Israel - It's Your Library Too. Discover the National Library of Israel, the national institution charged with preserving our shared heritage and endowing it to future generations, which is fast becoming the most significant cultural institution in Israel and the Jewish world.

February 8: Stuart Schoenfeld will be sharing with us an update, ""The Arava Institute, COVID and the greening of the Middle East." The Narayever Congregation has had a continuing relationship with the institute, designating it several times as the Israeli charity for funds raised by the Yom Kippur appeal.

February 15: Derek Penslar will set Herzl in the context of Jewish leadership and modern Jewish politics, comparing Herzl with other Jewish leaders of his day demonstrates the uniqueness of Herzl’s personality and achievements.

February 22: *Speaking to us from Israel* Joseph Gitler (founder of Leket Israel, the National Food Bank), will highlight the social repercussions of the pandemic and share insights about the challenging state of food insecurity in Israel today.

March 1: Jay Shofet, Director of Partnerships and Development at the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel, Israel’s oldest and largest environmental NGO, will speak about Israel as one of the world's most important biodiversity hot spots -- what that means, and the challenges of balancing nature protection and sustainable development.

March 8: Jenny Isaacs is the Director of Heart to Heart, a joint initiative of Givat Haviva and Hashomer Hatzair - Camp Shomria Canada dedicated to bringing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict down to a human level by empowering young Jewish and Palestinian co-citizens of Israel with the relationships and leadership skills they need to create a more inclusive and shared society.  

March 15: *Speaking to us from Israel* Dr. Nir Michaeli, Rector, Oranim College, on Youth movements in Israel – A unique process for shaping social and educational identity.

April 19: *Speaking to us from Israel* Head of Shalva, Kalman Samuels.
