Join us for a wonderful new Zoom series every Monday at Noon throughout the month of January 2021 with exciting presenters talking on their choice of Inspirational Jewish Lives. Please contact the office or check the Narayever Net for Zoom info.

January 4:    Peter Sevitt will speak about Abba Eban. Known as the Voice of Israel, he was one of the most stirring and inspiring orators of the second half of the 20th century, representing Israel at the United Nations and as Ambassador to the US and as foreign minister and deputy prime minister.

January 11:   Dan Aviv writes, "To me, there is no person who deserves the title 'Renaissance Woman' more than Dona Gracia Mendes. She was an intellectual, financier and politician who navigated the intrigues of both the Portuguese Inquisition and the royal court of the Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent.  In her day, she personally saved thousands - and, to this day, she continues to inspire the generations."

January 18:   Judge Dennis Davis, from South Africa, will explore the inspirational life of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and will examine what makes a great judge.

January 25:   Kalman Weiser will discuss Solomon Birnbaum (1891-1989), the first professor of Yiddish in a European university (Hamburg) and who accurately dated the Dead Sea Scrolls before the application of radiocarbon dating. His archives, housed in a North York home, tell the story of a pioneering scholar.
